Paint Lake, Kenton, Michigan (U.P.).
Completed 2000.
A lake home in Northern Michigan. 2000 square feet fronting 400 feet of lake frontage. At the end of a 1-1/2 mile private road, this residence is an energy efficient design for the two artists. While a simply constructed two story box, the house benefits from an in-floor radiant heating system, a wood stove with exterior combustion air, large areas of low-E glass, super-insulated walls and ceilings, and a virtually maintenance free roof and skin of dark brown corrugated steel. A glass wall facing the lake provides panoramic views of Paint Lake and the Ottawa National Forest.
